The couple exchanged vows and a beautiful ring, with stunning loose diamonds. The ceremony took place in California in front of family and friends.

A Wisconsin woman weeding her garden dug up an engagement ring that turned out to belong to her daughter, and had been lost 20 years earlier. The last time the ring was seen was at a graduation party that took place in the same garden. The ring had remained intact with very little damage despite being in the ground for close to twenty years. It was part of a wedding ring set. When diamond settings are created to a high standard, they can indeed last for years.

A whole bunch of society girls showed up at a new nightclub in West Hollywood. Paris Hilton wore a gorgeous diamond necklace, which was inlaid with scores of loose diamonds, and must have cost a packet. Other party girls laying on the bling, included Lindsay Lohan, and Ms. Hilton’s sister Nicky.
Paris Hilton is particularly found of jewelry, and, judging by her choices it would appear that she knows a thing or two about buying loose diamonds.

In classic Vegas style, Geldof married her musician boyfriend Max Drummey in a quick ceremony with no friends or family attending. The only proof of marriage was a unique and gleaming diamond ring.

The Kimberley Process is an international scheme for the prevention of the practice of trading loose diamonds in order to fund conflicts, mainly in central and west Africa. Such diamonds are often referred to as “blood diamonds.” For many years, rebel movements in those countries controlled diamond mines and forced locals to mine loose diamonds in order to fund their conflicts.
The Kimberley Process was signed by 73 countries, and is a cooperation between governments and industry. A whole process is required of members in order to receive the Kimberley Certification for their loose diamonds.

A citizen of Georgia has been caught trying to smuggle $200,000 worth of loose diamonds into Israel. Upon landing at Tel Aviv, the man collected his luggage form the carousel and headed for the green “nothing to declare” lane. As he passed though the lane, customs agents became suspicious. Upon inspecting his case, they were astounded to find a substantial amount of loose diamonds, worth $200,000. The man is suspected of trying to smuggle loose diamonds known as blood diamonds – diamonds sourced from countries were they are traded to fund conflicts, primarily in Africa.
